I have been writing for several years professionally. I started writing mostly online content for various informational websites. Before that, I dabbled with my own poetry and wrote lots of stories in my head. It wasn't until my third child was about a year old when a friend and I started SEMWA, South Eastern Michigan Writer's Association.
I wrote my first novel in three months and it was picked up and published a year or so later. It was an historical romantic suspense novel. And yep, you can tell it's a first book. Some day I may go back and rework a little of it, for now, I prefer to move forward. I see it on various bookseller's websites, however the publisher has gone out of business (as many small publishers have had close their doors,) so I'm not sure if you can still get this one.
My next book was my anthology. This project was very close to my heart. I put out a call across the globe and was rewarded with wonderful examples of how God has a hand in our daily lives whether we realize it at the time or not.
Gloria Jean was my next book. It was written during a November writing session you may have heard of called NANOWRIMO. This took another year to publish. I wrote this book in honor of my mom, Gloria Jean and hence titled both the heroine and the book after my mom.
After this, I tried my hand at a paranormal romance. This is a shorter book that was as much fun to write as it is to read. This one may turn into a series.
My latest published novel takes place at Christmas. My favorite time of the year. It's a contemporary romance. It is a romance and does have a happy ending, but the in-between is where it pulls you inside the book.
I am full of ideas. I've started writing and gotten about half way into more books than I can count. They are sitting on my shelves waiting for me to come back to them. Some day, some way, I will go back and either write full novels of them, or short stories depending on how much of the story lines I can remember or reinvent.
Through the years, I've written stories for other publications. Currently, I'm trying my hand at horror writing. This is taking me to interesting places in my mind.
